Hootie is a nickname for the band Hootie & the Blowfish, an American rock band formed in 1986. They gained mainstream success in the 1990s with hits like "Hold My Hand" and "Only Wanna Be with You." The band's lead singer, Darius Rucker, went on to have a successful solo country music career. Hootie & the Blowfish reunited in 2019 and continue to tour and release new music.
